The majority of rig knives are custom built to your specifications. Some pre-made knives may be available- send a message to find out.
There are several options if you’d like a custom knife:
- Choose a standard design or collaborate on a custom design
- Choice of handle material, design, and liners
- Normal lanyard hole or hidden lanyard hole
- Optional filework on spine
- Optional design etched on blade

Standard Designs
From top to bottom:
Brig- The most popular design! Pictured with a 8.5″ long overall with a 3.5″ blade length. (second from top)
Classic- the traditional rig knife design. Can be made in different sizes. Pictured at 7.875″ overall length with 3.75″ blade length, the ideal blade for small hands. (bottom)
New Design: The Frigate
Originally designed in collaboration with sailors aboard the USS Constitution, the Frigate is built for the mariner handling large diameter lines. It comes in at a 10.75″ overall length with a 5.25″ blade- nearly 2″ longer than the standard Brig Knife. This version is pictured with Damascus steel, rope filework, and copper liners.
Warranty
AB Knives are designed to be used in real-world situations. Normal wear will occur, but if you experience damage during use, or need a sharpening, please send an email. Repairs will not be covered for deliberate damage, stress testing, or misuse.
